The soul plane is commonly called the astral plane. Some call it also the dream plane.

Unlike the Material Plane, the astral Plane is quite different. As the plane has no physical component what the traveler sees is influenced by his expectations.

The following is a summary of these differences:

• Gravity is as expected by the traveler, thus normally their home gravity.
• Alterable Morphic: The will power of the people there can alter things. The plane contains little to alter, besides the spirits themselves, however.
• Mildly Neutral-Aligned: The plane tends to neutrality, all alignment powers are at -1 to use.
• Willpower based: All actions on the Astral Plane are based on the willpower of the spirit.
• Normal Will Magic: Spells function normally on the astral plane, but is based on the willpower of the user.
• No physical items: No physical items can be transported to the astral plane.

The astral plane is divided into the upper and lower astral planes, most people traveling on the astral plane will use the upper plane as you can move around there “normally”. All normal travel to and from the plane is to the upper plane.

For most people the upper astral plane will look like a featureless unending plane with silvery color and a featureless sky the same color as their homeworld sky.

The lower astral plane is a silvery nothingness. This is where the spirits of creatures and the spirits of dead creatures are.

All actions on the astral plane are modified by the users wisdom attribute instead of whatever they normally use and no items bonuses apply.

Shamans, Dreamlords and psionics commonly use the plane to travel and to spy and affect the real world. Some others use it too, but less.

Those with psionic powers who look carefully can see a small silvery cord from creatures on the upper plane going down into the plane.

Travelers can mold themselves by expending willpower to modify things. Frequent travelers tend to have sets of actions they do on entering. This may include defensive or offensive gear and actions on self.

Travel on the astral plane is equivalent to travel on the normal plane so care should be taken to not intrude on protected areas.
