Eastern Myaasia

Eastern Myaasia is all the area between Askalon in the north, the Great Desert in the south, the Gap in the West and the Unreachable Sea in the east.

The Gap was the easternmost outpost of the Central Kingdom. From there the Great Road leads all the way to the coast.

Along the way lie the ruins of the city of [Baldemar]. Baldemar was once a large trade city but it was razed to the ground by the armies of Prul-Gar after enduring more than four years of siege. Though the lich himself perished in the battle and his army was scattered, unlife is still numerous in the area.

A few days further east there once was the small town of Zerim. It is said, that this was the site where the lich armies had been imprisoned aeons past, and also where they broke free from their wards. The site is today guarded by the church of Reann who is said to hold vigil over any evils that are said to be still buried beneath the place. Still further east, at where the path to the northern kingdom of Askalon leaves the Great Road, there is the heaviy fortified Last Inn. Though the Great Road is not as widely travelled as before the Unlife Wars, the Last Inn has been rebuilt to provide a relatively safe haven to passing caravans.

North of the Great Road lies a wide area simply known as the Great Plains. It is home to the savage Sagath peoples. The Sagath used to raid all the settlements along the Great Road, but their numbers were greatly reduced in the Unlife Wars and they are hardly any threat today.

The city of Illianin lies on the Great Road at the eastern end of ther Plains and at the mouth of the Jon river.A few miles up the river there is the site of the great Battle of Jon River, where Chondra made her stand against the armies of Xanathar and slew the lich. Consequently, Illianin is one of the few places in eastern Myaasia to survive the Unlife Wars relatively unscathed and it has seen a significant influx of refugees and has grown in size several times over. In the third era, the Great Road continued beyond Illianin to the great city of Carse, but during the Period of Destruction, the population of Carse to a man fell victim to a plague and nobody travels there anymore. Rumours speak of a cult of Nehaya using the ruins for their sinister purposes.

Northeast of Illianin there is only the Great Forest a vast expanse of woodland infested with goblins and the small town of Myritin. The fate Myritin suffered during the Period of Destruction is currently unknown. Eastern Myaasia is served by the Duruni Olkanane navigators.
